Bishr Hani Al-Khasawneh (January 27, 1969 -) is a Jordanian lawyer and diplomat who is currently the Prime Minister of Jordan and Minister of Defense, succeeding Omar Al-Razzaz. Qualifications

Bishr Al-Khasawneh government (October 12, 2020)
Government No. 102 since the declaration of the independence of the Emirate of Transjordan in 1921, and the thirteenth during the reign of King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, the legal and diplomat “Bishr Al-Khasawneh” was assigned to form the new government on October 7, 2020, days after accepting the resignation of the Omar Razzaz government on October 2, 2020 Assigning it to conduct business until the formation of the new government, following the dissolution of the Jordanian House of Representatives on September 27, which calls (according to the constitution) to dismiss the current government after a week of dissolution and stipulates that the new government not be formed by the current prime minister.
On October 12, the Prime Minister-designate responded to the letter of assignment and announced the formation of the new government and took the constitutional oath before the King on the same day.

In the letter of assignment, King Abdullah II called on the government to continue to take all studied measures and measures in dealing with the Corona pandemic in a way that balances health considerations, operating economic sectors, and preserving citizens’ livelihoods, as the king stressed that the health and safety of citizens is a top priority.
King Abdullah II also stressed the need to exert maximum efforts to improve the health system and raise its readiness and capacity, and to immediately start raising the capacity of hospitals and intensive care beds at the level of Jordan, and to move forward in allocating and establishing centers for conducting examinations and expanding the provision of laboratories in all governorates, and immediately starting in Establishing the National Center for Epidemiology and Communicable Diseases, to enhance Jordan’s ability to deal with this pandemic or any similar future challenge. Continuing to expand the base of those covered by the health insurance program for uninsured individuals, and working to develop the system of comprehensive health centers.
King Abdullah II also called on the government to achieve economic recovery after the Corona pandemic through clear programs with specific time frames that include measurable steps, evaluation and follow-up, and have a tangible impact in reducing the economic repercussions resulting from the pandemic, stimulating growth and increasing the competitiveness of productive sectors. King Abdullah II also stressed the need to expand the social protection system to reach the target groups and develop the social safety system to ensure a decent life for all Jordanians, link it to the education, health and work system, continue to advance the agricultural sector, organize it and enhance the use of modern technologies to develop and diversify the sector’s productivity, open new export markets, and enhance Food security in Jordan.
King Abdullah II also called for finding innovative solutions to mitigate the damage to the tourism sector, focusing on domestic tourism and improving and diversifying the tourism product, in order to preserve tourism facilities and ensure the continuation of job opportunities in the sector, and to prepare well to receive tourists after the improvement of the epidemiological conditions in the world.
King Abdullah II also stressed the need to continue restructuring the energy sector, which would be reflected in increasing the efficiency of energy use in all sectors, and reducing its costs on the national economy. Accelerating the improvement and activation of the public transport system and increasing its efficiency, by employing technology, using renewable energy and smart solutions, and building the capacities of workers in this sector. Overcoming obstacles to national and foreign investment, moving forward in attracting investments in major strategic projects, starting the development of the state’s administrative apparatus, and providing insights on the possibility of merging some ministries and agencies, to raise the efficiency of the public sector, improve the level of services, and control expenditures. Efficiency is achieved in managing state resources and controlling spending, in addition to improving revenues by combating tax and customs evasion and avoidance without exaggerating the citizen and the private sector.
King Abdullah II also stressed the need to consolidate the principle of the rule of law, within a framework of transparency and accountability, and for the government to implement this principle in all its transactions and procedures, and for everyone, individuals, institutions and authorities, to be subject to the rule of law, which cannot be exercised selectively. He also commended the efforts to combat corruption, which is unrelenting in its fight and confrontation.
King Abdullah II also directed the government and all state institutions to support the work of the Independent Election Commission, provide it with all means to ensure fair and transparent elections, and take all necessary preventive measures and measures to protect the health of citizens in the coming period and during the voting process.
King Abdullah II also stressed the need to continue taking care of the Jordanian Armed Forces in training, preparation, arming and providing them with a decent livelihood.
