Salah Al-Suhaimat (1914-1966) was a Jordanian politician born in the city of Karak in southern Jordan. He was the first to hold the position of Secretary-General of the National Assembly between 1946-1948, 1951-1953 and 1961-1962. He was elected as a representative of the city of Karak in July 1963. In addition to heading the Foreign Affairs Committee in the Jordanian Parliament, he worked in several positions, including Undersecretary-General of the Ministry of Interior and Director-General of Publications.

His life and academic qualifications

He received his primary and secondary education at Karak School, then completed his secondary education at Salt Secondary School, and obtained a diploma in agriculture in Beirut, Lebanon.

Suhaimat was awarded the Grand Ring of the Jordan Star Medal, the Grand Cordon Medal and the Independence Medal, in addition to a number of decorations from Arab and European countries.
