Ahmad Obeidat (November 18, 1938), a former Jordanian prime minister, holder of a law degree from the University of Baghdad, was born in the village of Hartha in the Bani Kenana District of the Irbid Governorate.

He resigned from the Senate following the signing of the Jordanian-Israeli peace agreement. He heads multiple national and environmental associations, including the National Center for Human Rights and the Jordan Environment Association. King Hussein appointed him as head of the largest committee to draft a Jordanian national charter with the participation of all Jordanian parties and forces after the 1989 elections.
