About Jordan
Jordan (officially: the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan) is an Arab country located in southwest Asia, in the middle of the Middle East, located in the southern part of the Levant region, and the northern part of the Arabian Peninsula. It has common borders with Syria to the north, Palestine to the west, Iraq to the east, and it is bordered to the east and south by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and it overlooks the Gulf of Aqaba in the southwest, where the city of Aqaba overlooks the Red Sea, and this is the only sea port for Jordan. Jordan is named after the Jordan River, which passes on its western borders. Jordan is a country that combines different Arab cultures and dialects in a striking way, and no natural borders separate it from its Arab neighbors except the Jordan River and the Yarmouk River, which form part of its borders with Palestine and Syria, respectively. As for the rest of the borders, it is an extension of the Levant Badia in the north and east, the An-Nafwa desert in the south, and Wadi Araba to the southwest. The terrain in Jordan varies greatly, the most important of which are the Ajloun Mountains in the northwest, and the Shara Mountains in the south, the highest peak on Umm al-Dami Mountain is 1854 meters, and the lowest point in the Dead Sea, which is the lowest point in the world.

.
1968
Jordan entered the war with Israel in 1967, in which it lost Jerusalem and the West Bank, and thousands of Palestinians were displaced from the West Bank to Jordan. On March 21, 1968, the Israeli forces crossed the Jordanian border to occupy the eastern bank of the Jordan River, for reasons that Israel considers strategic. It actually crossed the river from several axes with bridges and under heavy air cover. The forces of the Jordanian Arab army, along the battle front, from the far north of Jordan to the south of the Dead Sea, confronted them forcefully. In the village of Al-Karamah, the Jordanian Arab forces, jointly with the Palestinian guerrillas and the residents of that area, engaged in fierce fighting with white weapons against the Israeli army in an operation that lasted about fifty minutes. The battle lasted more than 16 hours, forcing the Israelis to withdraw completely from the battlefield, leaving behind for the first time their losses and dead without being able to withdraw them with them. In this battle, the Jordanian army was able to achieve victory and prevent Israel from achieving its goals.
